Find what a present amount will grow to.

Enter a present value, interest rate per period, and number of periods. The calculator uses the standard future value formula: FV = PV × (1 + r)^n, where r is the interest rate as a decimal and n is the number of periods. This private browser estimate assumes a constant interest rate and does not account for fees, taxes, inflation, or changing rates. It is not financial, investment, or tax advice; your values are not uploaded or stored.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.

What is future value?

Future value (FV) is what a present amount of money will grow to after a number of periods at a given interest rate. It answers: how much will my money be worth later if it grows at this rate for the given periods?

What formula does the future value calculator use?

FV = PV x (1 + r)^n, where PV is the present value, r is the interest rate per period as a decimal, and n is the number of periods. For example, $10,000 at 5% for 10 years has a future value of $10,000 x (1.05)^10, about $16,288.95.

Which inputs are accepted?

Enter a present value of zero or more, an interest rate greater than -100%, and a whole number of periods (zero or more). Decimal values are accepted for the present value and rate. The calculator shows a clear error for invalid inputs.

Do my values stay private, and is this financial advice?

Yes. The calculation and copy action run locally in your browser. CodeASystem does not upload or store the values you enter. This is a general estimate, not financial, investment, or tax advice.
