Financial Calculators

Annuity Calculator

Calculate present value, future value, payment, periods, or rate for an ordinary annuity locally in your browser.

Choose what to solve for, then enter the other values. Use consistent periods (e.g., monthly rate with monthly periods). Payments at end of period (ordinary annuity). Calculations run locally in your browser; your values are not uploaded or stored.

Your annuity result will appear here.

Solve for any variable in an ordinary annuity.

Choose whether to find the present value, future value, payment per period, number of periods, or interest rate per period. Enter the other four values using consistent periods (for example, a monthly rate with monthly periods). Payments are assumed at the end of each period (ordinary annuity). This private browser estimate assumes a constant rate and does not account for fees, taxes, inflation, or changing rates; it is not financial, investment, or tax advice. Your values are not uploaded or stored.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.

What is an ordinary annuity?

An ordinary annuity assumes payments are made at the end of each period. This is the most common convention for loans, mortgages, and retirement withdrawals. The calculator uses the standard formulas: PV = FV/(1+r)^n + PMT×[(1+r)^n-1]/[r(1+r)^n] and FV = PV×(1+r)^n + PMT×[(1+r)^n-1]/r.

How do I choose the rate and periods?

Use consistent periods. For a monthly payment, enter the monthly rate (annual rate / 12) and the total number of monthly periods (years x 12). For quarterly, divide the annual rate by 4 and multiply years by 4.

Which inputs are accepted?

Enter values from -1,000,000,000 to 1,000,000,000 for present value, future value, and payment. Rate per period from -99.99% to 100%. Number of periods as a whole number from 1 to 1,000,000. Missing or non-numeric entries show a clear error instead of a result.

Can the rate be negative or zero?

Yes. The calculator handles zero and negative rates. When the rate is zero, it uses simple arithmetic: PV = FV - PMT×n, FV = PV + PMT×n, PMT = (FV - PV)/n, and n = (FV - PV)/PMT.

Do my values stay private, and is this financial advice?

Yes. The calculation and copy action run locally in your browser. CodeASystem does not upload or store the values you enter. This is a private browser estimate assuming a constant rate; it does not account for fees, taxes, inflation, or changing rates and is not financial, investment, or tax advice.
