Concrete Block Calculator

Estimate concrete blocks and pallets to buy from wall size, block face size, and waste allowance locally in your browser.

Enter the wall size and a single concrete block's face length and height in feet to estimate how many blocks to buy, including a waste allowance for cuts, breakage, and mortar joints. The calculation runs locally in your browser; your values are not uploaded or stored.

Your concrete block estimate will appear here.

Enter block dimensions in the same unit as the wall; for example, a standard 16 by 8 inch block face is about 1.33 by 0.67 ft. This estimate covers one flat wall face and ignores doors, windows, corners, caps, mortar volume, and reinforcement, so measure each face separately and add extra waste for openings and corners. Check your supplier because block sizes and pallet counts vary by product and region. This block estimate is a planning guide, not a purchase guarantee.

Find how many concrete blocks to buy without uploading anything.

Enter the wall length and height plus a single concrete block length and height, an optional blocks-per-pallet count, and a waste allowance to see the wall area, block count, and rounded-up pallet count. Everything runs locally in your browser, so your values are not uploaded or stored.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.

What does the concrete block calculator show?

Enter the wall length and height, a single concrete block length and height in the same unit, an optional blocks-per-pallet count, and a waste allowance. The calculator returns the wall area, the block face area, and the block count with waste rounded up, plus the pallet count when blocks per pallet is given, with the calculation shown. For example, a 20 by 8 ft wall with 1.33 by 0.67 ft blocks and 10% waste needs about 198 blocks, so buy 3 pallets at 90 blocks per pallet.

Which formula does the concrete block calculator use?

It uses wall area = wall length x wall height, block area = block length x block height, then blocks = wall area / block area x (1 + waste percent / 100) rounded up, and pallets = blocks / blocks per pallet rounded up. Use the same length unit for the wall and the block; for example, a standard 16 by 8 inch block face is about 1.33 by 0.67 ft. The estimate covers one flat wall face and ignores doors, windows, corners, and mortar volume, so measure each face separately.

Which inputs are accepted?

Enter a wall length, wall height, block length, and block height greater than zero through 1000000000, an optional whole-number blocks-per-pallet count from 1 to 1000000000, and a waste allowance from 0 to 100 percent (blank means 10). Decimal dimensions are accepted. Zero, negative numbers, non-numeric text, and out-of-range values show a clear error instead of a result.

Does the concrete block calculator upload my values?

No. The whole calculation runs locally in your browser. Your wall and block dimensions, pallet count, and waste allowance are not uploaded, stored, or sent to a server.
