Calculators
Brick Calculator
Estimate wall bricks and pallets to buy from wall size, brick size, and waste allowance locally in your browser.
Enter the wall size and a single brick size in feet to estimate how many bricks to buy, including a waste allowance for cuts, breakage, and uneven edges. The calculation runs locally in your browser; your values are not uploaded or stored.
Enter brick dimensions in the same unit as the wall; for example, a standard 8 by 3 inch brick face is about 0.67 by 0.25 ft. This estimate ignores mortar joints, so add extra waste when mortar gaps matter. Check your supplier because brick sizes and pallet counts vary by product. This brick estimate is a planning guide, not a purchase guarantee.
Find how many bricks to buy without uploading anything.
Enter the wall length and height plus a single brick length and height, an optional bricks-per-pallet count, and a waste allowance to see the wall area, brick count, and rounded-up pallet count. Everything runs locally in your browser, so your values are not uploaded or stored.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.
What does the brick calculator show?
Enter the wall length and height, a single brick length and height in the same unit, an optional bricks-per-pallet count, and a waste allowance. The calculator returns the wall area, the brick face area, and the brick count with waste rounded up, plus the pallet count when bricks per pallet is given, with the calculation shown. For example, a 20 by 8 ft wall with 0.67 by 0.25 ft bricks and 10% waste needs about 1051 bricks, so buy 3 pallets at 500 bricks per pallet.
Which formula does the brick calculator use?
It uses wall area = wall length x wall height, brick area = brick length x brick height, then bricks = wall area / brick area x (1 + waste percent / 100) rounded up, and pallets = bricks / bricks per pallet rounded up. Use the same length unit for the wall and the brick; for example, a standard 8 by 3 inch brick face is about 0.67 by 0.25 ft. The estimate ignores mortar joints, so add extra waste when mortar gaps matter.
Which inputs are accepted?
Enter a wall length, wall height, brick length, and brick height greater than zero through 1000000000, an optional whole-number bricks-per-pallet count from 1 to 1000000000, and a waste allowance from 0 to 100 percent (blank means 10). Decimal dimensions are accepted. Zero, negative numbers, non-numeric text, and values outside these limits show a clear error instead of a result.
Do my numbers stay private?
Yes. The calculation and copy action run locally in your browser. CodeASystem does not upload or store the values you enter.
