Pace Calculator

Solve for pace, distance, or time from the other two values with minutes per kilometre or mile locally in your browser.

Calculate your running pace without uploading anything.

Choose whether to solve for pace, distance, or time, then enter the other two values. Pace is time per distance in minutes per kilometre or mile. The calculator applies pace = time ÷ distance, distance = time ÷ pace, or time = pace × distance and shows the worked formula. Everything runs locally in your browser, so your values are not uploaded or stored.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.

How does the pace calculator work?

Choose whether to solve for pace, distance, or time, then enter the other two values. Pace is time per distance: pace = time / distance, distance = time / pace, or time = pace x distance. For example, running 5 km in 25 minutes gives a pace of 5:00 min/km.

What is a good running pace?

A good pace is one you can sustain for your target distance and effort level. Common beginner paces range from 6:00 to 8:00 min/km (9:30 to 13:00 min/mile), while experienced runners may run 4:00 to 6:00 min/km (6:30 to 9:30 min/mile). The best pace is one that feels manageable and matches your fitness goal.

Which inputs are accepted?

Enter values greater than zero up to 1,000,000,000,000 for distance, time, and pace. Missing or non-numeric entries show a clear error instead of a result.

Do my values stay private?

Yes. The calculation and copy action run locally in your browser. CodeASystem does not upload or store the values you enter.
