Financial Calculators
Debt Snowball Calculator
Create a debt payoff plan using the snowball method: pay minimums on all debts and attack the smallest balance first.
See your path to debt-free with the snowball method.
Enter each debt with its name, balance, interest rate, and minimum payment. The calculator orders debts by balance (smallest first), rolls each minimum payment into the next debt as they are paid off, and shows the payoff timeline and total interest. Add an optional extra monthly payment to accelerate the plan. This private browser estimate is for general planning only, not financial advice; your values are not uploaded or stored.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.
What is the debt snowball method?
The debt snowball method orders debts by balance from smallest to largest. You pay the minimum on all debts and put any extra money toward the smallest balance. When that debt is paid off, you roll its payment into the next smallest debt, creating a snowball effect.
How does the calculator handle the extra payment?
The extra monthly payment is applied to the first (smallest) debt. As each debt is paid off, its minimum payment is added to the payment for the next debt, along with the original extra amount.
Which inputs are accepted?
Enter at least one debt with a name, balance greater than zero, interest rate from 0% to 100%, and minimum payment greater than zero. The optional extra payment must be zero or greater.
Do my values stay private, and is this financial advice?
