Integer Cube Root Calculator
Find the exact integer cube root, remainder, and perfect-cube status of non-negative integers up to 1000 digits in your browser.
Enter up to 1000 digits. The integer cube root is the largest whole number whose cube does not exceed n. All calculations stay in your browser.
How the exact integer cube root works
The integer cube root of a non-negative integer n is the largest whole number r such that r³ ≤ n. Binary search uses exact BigInt comparisons to find r without rounding. The remainder is n − r³; zero means n is a perfect cube. The next cube is (r + 1)³ and always exceeds n. For 12345, the root is 23, its cube is 12167, the remainder is 178, and the next cube is 13824. Zero has root zero and is a perfect cube. This tool returns a floor root rather than a decimal approximation. Enter up to 1000 digits; leading zeros and surrounding whitespace are accepted. Signs, negative values, decimals, separators and scientific notation are rejected. Use the standard Cube Root Calculator for decimal estimates or negative numbers. All calculations run in your browser without uploading or storing inputs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.
What is an integer cube root?
It is the largest whole number r with r³ ≤ n. For 30 the root is 3 and the remainder is 3, since 3³ = 27 and 4³ = 64.
How do I check for a perfect cube?
A zero remainder identifies a perfect cube. Zero, one, eight and twenty-seven are examples.
Are large results rounded?
No. Binary search with BigInt preserves every digit for inputs up to 1000 digits. The result is a floor root, not a decimal estimate.
Can I enter negative numbers or decimals?
This exact integer tool accepts only non-negative integers, with optional leading zeros and surrounding whitespace. Use the standard Cube Root Calculator for negative or decimal inputs. Your input stays in your browser.
