Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.

Which temperature scales can I convert?

Enter a temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin. The converter returns the equivalent value in all three scales using °F = °C × 9 ÷ 5 + 32 and K = °C + 273.15.

What happens below absolute zero?

The converter shows an error for Celsius below −273.15 °C, Fahrenheit below −459.67 °F, or Kelvin below 0 K, because those values are below absolute zero.

Can I convert decimals, zero, or negative temperatures?

Yes. Decimal values are accepted, zero is valid in every scale, and negative Celsius and Fahrenheit values above absolute zero convert normally.

Does my temperature leave my browser?

No. The conversion and copy action run locally in your browser. CodeASystem does not upload or store the value you enter.
