TDEE Calculator
Estimate your total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) from age, sex, height, weight, and activity level locally in your browser.
Estimate the energy you use on a typical day.
Enter your age, sex, height, weight, and activity level. The calculator estimates basal metabolic rate with the Mifflin–St Jeor equation, then scales it by a standard activity factor for total daily energy expenditure. This is a general estimate, not medical advice; your values are calculated locally and are not uploaded or stored.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.
How does the TDEE calculator work?
Enter your age, sex, height, weight, and activity level. The calculator first estimates basal metabolic rate with the Mifflin–St Jeor equation, then multiplies it by a standard activity factor: 1.2 for sedentary, 1.375 for light, 1.55 for moderate, 1.725 for active, or 1.9 for very active.
What is the difference between BMR and TDEE?
BMR estimates the energy your body uses each day at rest. TDEE adds energy used for daily movement, exercise, and digestion by scaling BMR with an activity factor, so it is usually higher than BMR.
Which activity level should I choose?
Choose sedentary for little or no exercise, light for 1–3 days of exercise per week, moderate for 3–5 days per week, active for 6–7 days per week, or very active for a physical job or twice-daily training. Pick the level that best matches a typical week.
What are this calculator’s limitations?
TDEE is a general estimate, not medical advice or a diagnosis. Individual energy needs can differ because of health conditions, pregnancy, body composition, medicines, age, and activity. Discuss personal nutrition or health questions with a qualified healthcare professional.
Do my details stay private?
