Split Bill Calculator
Split a bill with an optional tip, allocate leftover cents exactly, or round every share up to a whole unit.
Split a restaurant or group bill evenly between 1 and 100 people. Enter the total bill amount, an optional tip percentage, and how many people are sharing it. The tip is added to the bill first and then divided equally, allocating any leftover cents so the shares add up exactly. Use one currency with two decimal places for all amounts. Include any tax or fees in the bill amount. Optional rounding raises each share to the next whole unit so the group collects enough to cover the full total. All calculations run locally in your browser; your amounts are not uploaded or stored.
Split the total without losing leftover cents.
Enter a bill with at most two decimal places, an optional tip from 0 to 100 percent, and 1 to 100 people. Include tax and fees in the bill. Tip = bill × tip percentage ÷ 100, rounded to the nearest cent. Divide the total into whole cents and assign one extra cent to as many people as needed: a 100.00 bill split three ways becomes 33.34, 33.33, and 33.33. Optional whole-unit rounding shows the amount collected and the extra above the total. All amounts use the same currency with two decimal places. This is an arithmetic estimate, not financial advice; confirm the final amounts before paying. Your inputs stay in your browser.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.
How do I split a bill with a tip?
Enter the bill including any taxes and fees, an optional tip percentage, and the number of people. The calculator rounds the tip to the nearest cent, adds it to the bill, and splits the total. A blank tip means zero percent.
What happens when the total does not divide evenly?
The calculator allocates leftover cents to some people so the payments add up exactly. For example, 100.00 shared by three people is one payment of 33.34 and two payments of 33.33.
What does rounding each share up do?
It raises each share to the next whole currency unit, keeping an already whole share unchanged. The result shows the rounded share, the group total collected, and any extra collected above the bill and tip. Decide together how to use that extra amount.
Which currencies and bill amounts are supported?
Use one currency with two decimal places. Enter a positive bill up to 1,000,000, a tip from 0 to 100 percent, and a whole number of people from 1 to 100. The calculator does not convert currencies or split by individual orders.
Are my bill details stored or uploaded?
No. All calculations run in your browser. Bill amounts, tips, and group sizes are not uploaded or stored by this tool.
