Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.
What does the IP converter show?
Enter an IPv4 address, a 32-bit integer, a hexadecimal value, or a binary value to see the equivalent dotted-decimal address, integer, uppercase hexadecimal, and 32-bit binary forms. For example, 192.168.1.1 converts to integer 3232235777, hex C0A80101, and binary 11000000.10101000.00000001.00000001.
Which inputs are accepted?
Enter a dotted-decimal IPv4 address with four octets from 0 to 255, an integer from 0 to 4294967295, a hexadecimal value with up to 8 hex digits with or without a 0x prefix, or a binary value with up to 32 bits. Leading zeros in IPv4 octets, IPv6 addresses, and values outside these ranges show a clear error instead of a result.
Does the IP converter handle IPv6 addresses?
No. This converter handles IPv4 addresses only, from 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255. IPv6 addresses use a different 128-bit format and are rejected with a clear error.
Does my value leave my browser?
No. The conversion and copy action run locally in your browser. CodeASystem does not upload or store the value you enter.
