Question 1

What does the cart abandonment calculator show?

Accepted Answer

Enter the number of shopping carts started and the number of completed purchases from the same period. The calculator returns the cart abandonment rate ((carts started minus completed purchases) divided by carts started times 100), the abandoned cart count, and the completion rate. For example, 1000 carts started with 300 completed purchases give a 70.00% abandonment rate with 700 abandoned carts.

Question 2

What is the cart abandonment rate formula?

Accepted Answer

Cart abandonment rate = (carts started minus completed purchases) divided by carts started times 100. The completion rate is 100 minus the abandonment rate. When you enter an average order value, the estimated revenue left in abandoned carts equals abandoned carts times that value.

Question 3

Which inputs are accepted?

Accepted Answer

Enter carts started as a whole number from 1 through 1000000000, completed purchases as a whole number from 0 through 1000000000, and an optional average order value from 0 through 1000000000. Completed purchases cannot be more than carts started. Empty fields, fractional counts, negative numbers, and non-numeric text show a clear error instead of a result.

Question 4

Do my store numbers stay private?
