Tribonacci Number Calculator

Calculate exact Tribonacci numbers for indices 0 to 1000 privately in your browser, with the next term and digit count.

Calculate a term in the Tribonacci sequence and the following term. Exact BigInt arithmetic keeps every digit. Your data stays in your browser.

Enter a whole number from 0 to 1000 using digits only. Zero returns 0. The sequence starts 0, 0, 1, 1, 2, 4, 7.

Calculate exact terms in the Tribonacci sequence.

This calculator uses the zero-based convention T(0) = 0, T(1) = 0 and T(2) = 1. Each later term adds the preceding three: T(n) = T(n − 1) + T(n − 2) + T(n − 3). The sequence begins 0, 0, 1, 1, 2, 4, 7, 13, 24, 44, 81. For example, T(10) = 44 + 24 + 13 = 81. Some references use different starting values or indices, so compare conventions before comparing results. Enter an index from 0 to 1000 using one to four digits; leading zeros and surrounding whitespace are accepted. Signs, decimals, separators and scientific notation are rejected. Exact BigInt addition preserves every digit. Results include the selected term, its decimal digit count and the next term. Zero has one digit. All calculations stay in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.

Which starting values does this calculator use?

T(0) = 0, T(1) = 0 and T(2) = 1. The next terms are 1, 2, 4, 7 and 13. Other indexing conventions may produce different values for the same index.

How are Tribonacci numbers calculated?

Each term after the first three is the sum of the preceding three terms. For example, T(10) = 44 + 24 + 13 = 81. Fibonacci numbers instead add the preceding two terms.

Are large results exact?

Yes. BigInt addition preserves every digit without rounding. The result includes the selected term, the next term and the decimal digit count. Zero counts as one digit.

Which inputs are supported?

Enter an index from 0 to 1000 using one to four digits. Leading zeros and surrounding whitespace are accepted; signs, decimals, separators and scientific notation are rejected. Your inputs stay in your browser.
