Rounding Calculator

Round a decimal number to 0–10 decimal places with exact decimal half-away-from-zero rounding.

Enter a decimal number to round.

Round decimals without binary floating-point surprises.

Enter a signed decimal number and choose 0–10 decimal places. The first discarded digit determines rounding: 5 or greater increases the retained magnitude, so ties round away from zero. For example, 1.005 becomes 1.01 at two places and -1.25 becomes -1.3 at one place. Trailing zeros show the selected precision. Inputs accept up to 100 digits and do not accept scientific notation. All processing stays in your browser. This short explanation and the FAQs cover the tool without a separate guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.

How are halfway values rounded?

Ties round away from zero. At two decimal places 1.005 becomes 1.01 and -1.005 becomes -1.01. This is decimal half-away-from-zero rounding.

Which inputs are supported?

Enter a signed decimal with up to 100 digits, such as -12.345 or .75. Choose a whole number of decimal places from 0 through 10. Scientific notation and comma separators are not accepted.

Why does the result include trailing zeros?

Zeros preserve the requested decimal precision. For example, rounding 2 to three decimal places displays 2.000. This tool rounds decimal places rather than significant figures.

Are my numbers uploaded?
