Kinematics Calculator

Solve for initial velocity, final velocity, acceleration, time, and displacement using SUVAT equations locally in your browser.

Enter any three known values to solve for the remaining two.

Solve motion problems with the five SUVAT variables.

Enter any three of the five kinematic quantities—initial velocity (u), final velocity (v), acceleration (a), time (t), and displacement (s)—and the calculator solves for the remaining two using the standard equations of motion. All calculations run locally in your browser; your values are not uploaded or stored.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this tool, how it works, and privacy.

What is the kinematics calculator?

This calculator solves motion problems using the five SUVAT variables: initial velocity (u), final velocity (v), acceleration (a), time (t), and displacement (s). Enter any three known values to calculate the remaining two.

Which equations does it use?

The calculator applies the standard kinematic equations: v = u + at, s = ut + ½at², v² = u² + 2as, s = ½(u + v)t, and s = vt - ½at². It selects the appropriate equation based on which variables are known.

Which inputs are accepted?

Enter exactly three of the five variables. Values can be positive, negative, or decimal. Time must be non-negative in the final solution. The calculator handles values up to 1e12 and shows an error for invalid combinations or non-physical results.

Do my values stay private?

Yes. All calculations run locally in your browser. CodeASystem does not upload or store the values you enter.
