What does the cone calculator show?
Enter a radius and a height from 0 (exclusive) to 1000000000. The calculator returns the volume (pi times r squared times height divided by 3), the surface area (base area plus lateral area), the base area (pi times r squared), the lateral area (pi times r times slant height), and the slant height (square root of r squared plus h squared). For example, radius 5 and height 10 give volume about 261.799387799, surface area about 254.160184616, base area about 78.5398163397, lateral area about 175.620368276, and slant height about 11.1803398875.
Which formulas does the cone calculator use?
It uses slant height = square root of (r squared + h squared), base area = pi x r^2, lateral area = pi x r x slant height, surface area = base area + lateral area, and volume = (pi x r^2 x h) / 3, where r is the radius and h is the height you enter.
